The American Music Therapy Association (Western Region Chapter) will be holding their annual conference in Long Beach this year. While many of the seminars look to be strictly music therapy (and less my cup of tea), the last CMTE course offered on the cognitive processing of music, emotions and pain looks to be grounded strongly in psychiatric studies and scientific research.

cool… are you going?
I’d like to hear about that if you do
I’m going to do everything in my power to, definitely. Money’s tight but this is right up my interest alley, and it doesn’t come along (especially to this region) often. The field is really taking off in the UK, but not as much here. There’s actually a Music Therapy cert. program at CSUN, but I’m really more interested in Music and Cognitive Processing.
