Diana Hereld is a musician, writer and researcher. She holds a master’s degree in music and psychological studies from the University of California, San Diego.After pursuing vocal performance, world music, and linguistic studies abroad, Diana completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music and Communication in Los Angeles. In 2011, she began a research appointment at California State University, Northridge where she conducted a study in music, autism and working memory. During her time in LA, Diana also enjoyed working as an early childhood music educator, as well as voice and piano instructor specializing in the tutelage of children with special needs.
As a vocalist, Diana has studied in London under Ian Kennedy (Guildhall School of Music and Drama, BBC) and in Florence under Susanna Rigacci (preferred Soprano of Ennio Morricone). She has appeared internationally on platforms including The Today Show, United Nations and Accademia Europa. She continues to perform locally as chamber pop singer-songwriter Diana Christien, and is managed by Revolution Entertainment. Diana’s music is available on iTunes and Spotify.
Diana offers a nurturing yet structured approach to piano and voice lessons. She approaches music education from a seasoned background of music therapy/psychology research as well as sincere love of both children and teaching. In-home or studio voice and piano lessons available for the Mira Mesa, La Jolla and greater San Diego areas, specializing in early developmental stages for the musician. Classical, musical theatre, and modern/pop/rock technique available. Extensive experience working with children with special needs (including autism spectrum and other developmental and behavioral challenges) allows for highly individualized and tailored approaches. All ages welcome.
